Mood: waiting for wind
7th July 2007
Windsurfing: Cooden
Wind Direction: WSW
Wind Stength: building throughout day to F5
Surf / Sea State: coastal flat, like a field plo
Air Temperature: toasty
Sea Temperature: fine
Weather: bight, sunny, wispy cloud & WIND !!
Max Speed: 26.1 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 39 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Bit of a mad day all round, but turned out good .... rushed about first thing to get van to MOT station only to find the VOSA computer had crashed so MOT postponed .... good news was I got to beach 1/2 hour sooner !
Got to Cooden to be greeted my Rich (usurf) doing some spring cleaning with the contents of his van spread all over the beach.
Checked the view and there were some whitecaps and it all looked set to be a windy one. Rather than go all domesticated like Rich and indulge in spring cleaning, I rigged the formula kit (borrowed Exocet Formula Warp & my 9.8m GTX) and headed out to play. Having not done a lot of formula sailing this year, it was good to re-aquaint myself with the light wind weapon of choice before next week's Eastbourne Extreme event.
Pretty soon Rich joined my on his Exocet Cross 140 & Tushy 7.5m and pretty soon the wind was filling in to suit. We did a switcheroo and Rich tried the FW kit .... and before long I was taking the big kit in to rig more sensible sized kit .... Remedy 7.4m & Rocket 125.
Lots of people were rocking up and enjoying the conditions, and plenty changed down as the wind continued to fill in.
Stuck with the Rocket & 7.4m for the duration, though I could probably have used 5.6m & 3S97 a lot of the time ... but a good test of the nitrous shorts seat harness, which worked really well.
Still had some mucking about to do with the van as MOT re-booked for monday .... courtesy van from Mark at Vans for Work solved the logistics issues, though does have me thinking about a van upgrade now
